United Methodist Men and United Women in Faith are groups that were started at the denominational level to foster spiritual growth and experience freedom in and through Jesus Christ. Both groups are currently active at FirstChurch, holding fellowship meetings, learning opportunities and more.
Formerly known as United Methodist Women, United Women in Faith at First United Methodist Church is part of a global network of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom through Jesus Christ. We develop a creative, supportive fellowship and expand mission by participating in the church’s global ministries.
At FirstChurch, four unit circles meet on a regular basis for programs on topics of spiritual enrichment, social action, and missions. During the year, we come together for Community Gatherings, inviting our church family and members of our larger community. Members are involved in Methodist-based outreach programs throughout the area, including Wesley-Rankin Community Center, Project Transformation North Texas, Dallas Bethlehem Center, CC Young Auxiliary and Methodist Dallas Medical Center Auxiliary. Education for mission and advocacy for social justice initiatives are among the ongoing projects found within our organization..
Women of all ages are invited to join and participate in United Women in Faith activities. For more information on United Women in Faith activities at FirstChurch, see the group’s Facebook page or contact Doris Marshall.
The goal of United Methodist Men is to foster spiritual growth among men, build connection with each other and offer service to the church and community. This group is one where every man is welcomed, valued and encouraged to explore their faith in a safe environment.
Each month, United Methodist Men come together either virtually or in-person for fellowship and to engage in deeper discipleship – this could take the form of a bible or book study, a community project or just an evening out for fun. This is a relaxed group where men can build friendships and have real connections in a safe space.
