Narrators 1, 2, 3, 4 – I’m looking for vocal variety and the ability to project a personality.  The narrators are storytellers who enjoy telling the story together.

Woman – beautiful, wise, capable, clever, confident; loves her Man and Baby; afraid of mice.

Cat – beautiful, wise, capable, clever, confident, curious, independent.

Dog – curious, hungry, easily manipulated and easily satisfied; friendly, but can hold a grudge.

Horse – curious but skittish; vain about its mane; easily manipulated and easily satisfied.

Man – Loves the Woman; thinks he is in charge; perhaps a little like Fred Flintstone?

Stage Manager – part of the cast; provides sound effects and plays the part of Bat; manipulates props

All roles except for Man and Woman are gender-optional.

Synopsis: A clever Rudyard Kipling fable in which the Woman domesticates the animals and the Cat negotiates a unique relationship with humans.

Audition requirements: The show will be performed once, at 2:30 on April 14, 2024. Please bring picture and resume if you have them. Be prepared to read with other auditioners. PDF of script provided if requested to meglyman@hotmail.com
