Lent and Easter at FirstChurch
Sunday, April 2
Palm Sunday Service – 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary
This service begins with a parade of palms commemorating Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Picnic at Shivers Park follows.
Thursday, April 6
Maundy Thursday Service – 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
During this service, Holy Communion will be observed as we remember the Last Supper and Christ’s deep love for us. Joint service with St. Paul UMC. All ages welcome.
Friday, April 7
Good Friday – Tenebrae Service – 7:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
The service of Tenebrae, or “Darkness,” depicts Christ’s suffering and death through the words of scripture interwoven with music provided by Chancel Choir, Variations Youth Choir, and String Quartet. Childcare is available.
Sunday, April 9
Easter Sunrise Service – 7:30 a.m. in the Atrium Courtyard
The junior and senior high students of FirstChurch will lead a service filled with song, reflective prayer, and a message.
Traditional Easter Service – 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary
This traditional service features an Easter banner processional and music provided by the Chancel Choir, brass and organ. Broadcast live on www.firstchurchdallas.org. Childcare available.
Free garage parking is available in Bryan Tower at the corner of San Jacinto and Harwood, diagonally across from the church for all Holy Week services. Handicapped parking is available at the church.
