Thursday Table Talk
Location: Upper Room
You are invited to a new and entertaining way to affect change in racial justice! Table Talks are designed by the Justice Builders, to encourage safe discussion around key points of a movie or documentary after it’s being viewed by a diverse group of participants.
On Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Upper Room at FirstChurch, we will feature “Owned: A Tale of Two Americas.” Feel free to bring your dinner. Refreshments will be provided.
Owned: A Tale of Two Americas, concisely yet powerfully challenges the narrative that the housing market in the U.S. is back on the upswing post-recession and that development patterns are the consequence of consumer personal preference. It shows that post-World War II housing policies are the result of the federal government and real estate industries purposely promoting segregation in America.
Director Giorgio Angelini will join us via Zoom from Los Angeles to discuss this award winning documentary.
Justice Builders is comprised of FirstChurch and St. Paul Asset Mappers, Congregational Partnership members, and others who have joined in the cause for racial justice. Contact Rev. Angela Williams for more information.
